Returns & Exchanges

Return policy

We accept returns within 7 days of delivery for a store credit or exchange, as long as your items meet our return requirements. Because each GWÉMÉ piece is produced in limited runs, we only issue refunds to the original payment method in the rare case of a confirmed quality fault or incorrect item.

Eligibility

  • Return request must be submitted within 7 days of delivery.
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered.
  • Original tags and labels must still be attached.
  • Items must be returned in their original packaging (including dust bags and inserts).
  • Proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) is required.

Non-returnable items

  • Final sale or archive sale items (clearly marked as such).
  • Custom, altered, or personalized pieces (including made-to-measure adjustments).
  • Intimates and swimwear, for hygiene reasons.
  • Headwraps, scarves, and earrings, for hygiene reasons.
  • Gift cards and digital products.
  • Items that show signs of wear, damage, stains, perfume, or alterations.

Exchange policy

We offer exchanges for a different size or color within 7 days of delivery, subject to availability. Where an exchange is not possible, we will issue a store credit that you can use towards a future purchase.

How exchanges work

  1. Start your return or exchange using the order lookup card on this page or contact our customer care team.
  2. Select the item(s) you would like to exchange and indicate your preferred size or color.
  3. Receive your return approval and follow the return instructions provided.
  4. Ship your original item back to us using a trackable service.
  5. Once your item is received and approved, we will either ship your replacement or issue your store credit.

If the item you want is no longer available, we will process a store credit or, in the case of a confirmed fault, a refund to your original payment method.

Refund and store credit processing

Once we receive and inspect your return, approved returns are processed within 5–7 business days. Store credits are issued as a digital GWÉMÉ credit sent to your email and can be used on future orders. For refunds approved due to a confirmed fault or incorrect item, please allow an additional 3–5 business days for the amount to appear on your card or bank statement, depending on your financial institution.

Return shipping

  • Domestic (within Nigeria): Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, except where an item is confirmed to be faulty or incorrect. In such cases, our team will share the appropriate return instructions and support.
  • International: Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, customs duties, and import taxes associated with sending items back to us. Original shipping fees, duties, and taxes are non-refundable.

We recommend using a trackable shipping method for all returns so you can follow your package back to us. GWÉMÉ is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit during the return process.
